The Community: posting, commenting and earning posting rights

How the Lonida community works — the exact requirements you must meet before you can create posts, what you can attach to a post, the thirty-minute edit window, and how following works.

The community is the social half of Lonida: posts, comments, likes and followers. Reading, commenting and liking are open to everybody from your first day. Creating posts has to be earned, and this guide explains exactly how.

Requirements

Before you can post

Posting is gated to keep the feed free of spam. Two things stand between a new account and its first post.

First: you need a username

You cannot post at all until you have set a username on your Profile tab. Remember that a username is permanent once set — so choose it properly rather than rushing it to unlock posting.

Second, your account must meet all three participation requirements. These are strict, and they are checked on the server as well as in the compose box:

The three posting requirements

  • Account ageRequired
At least 30 days since you registered.
  • Community participationRequired
You have commented on at least 200 distinct posts. Multiple comments on the same post count once.
  • EngagementRequired
You have given at least 1,000 likes across posts and comments combined.

You are shown your progress

The compose box displays a checklist with your current number against each requirement, so you always know how far you have to go rather than guessing. Administrators bypass these requirements entirely.

Breadth counts, not volume

The 200 figure counts distinct posts you have commented on, not comments written. Leaving ten comments on one post advances you by one. The rule is deliberately measuring whether you take part across the community, so the fastest honest route is to read widely and reply where you genuinely have something to say.

Posting

Creating a post

A post must contain something — text, a photo, or a video. An entirely empty post is refused.

What you can include

  • TextOptional
Your message. Emoji are available from the composer.
  • ImageOptional
Upload your own, or generate one with AI from your post text. Uploads must be under 1MB.
  • YouTube videoOptional
Attach a video by its YouTube ID. Invalid IDs are rejected.

AI images cost LONIDA

Generating a post image with AI is charged from the club wallet, exactly like club logos and avatars — so it is limited to the owner, an Admin or a Finance member. Uploading your own image is free and open to anyone who can post. You can optionally describe the style you want before generating.

Editing

The thirty-minute edit window

Posts and comments can both be edited for 30 minutes after publishing, and only by their author. After that the edit window closes permanently.

Why the window is short

Half an hour is long enough to fix a typo or a broken sentence, and short enough that nobody can rewrite a post after people have replied to it. If you spot a mistake, fix it straight away rather than coming back later.

Interacting

Comments, likes and reporting

What everyone can do from day one

  • Comment on any post — and it counts towards your posting requirements.
  • Like posts and comments — this also counts towards your requirements.
  • Report a post that breaks the rules.
  • Follow other managers to keep track of them.

Commenting and liking are not busywork

They are the mechanism by which you earn posting rights. Every genuine comment and like moves you towards being able to post yourself, so the requirements are less a barrier than a description of how to become part of the community.

Follows

Following

Following another manager is a single click from their profile, from a post, or from your History page. Your followers and the people you follow are both listed on your public profile, and your History page lets you follow back directly from the list of people who followed you.

FAQ

Common questions

Why can I comment but not post?+
Commenting is open to everyone; posting requires 30 days of account age, comments on 200 distinct posts, and 1,000 likes given. The compose box shows exactly which of the three you still need.
I have written hundreds of comments but the counter is low.+
The requirement counts distinct posts you have commented on, not total comments. Ten comments on one post count as one.
The post button says I need a username.+
Set one on your account Profile tab. Choose carefully — it cannot be changed afterwards.
My image was rejected.+
Uploaded images must be under 1MB. Compress it or choose a smaller one.
I can no longer edit my post.+
The 30-minute window has passed. It cannot be reopened.
Where do I see everything I have posted?+
The History page breaks down your posts, comments, likes given and followers into browsable lists.
