Your Lonida account holds a wallet with real value in it. The Security tab is where you make that account genuinely hard to take. There are three things here: your PIN, two-factor authentication, and — at the very bottom — deleting your account.
Do these two things today
Set a PIN and enable two-factor authentication. Together they take about three minutes and they are the difference between an account that can be taken with a stolen password and one that cannot.
Your PIN
A PIN is exactly six digits. It acts as a second confirmation for sensitive actions and can also be used as your login verification method. Setting one for the first time only asks for the new PIN; changing it afterwards requires your current PIN as well.
Choosing a PIN
- Exactly six digits — nothing longer, shorter, or containing letters.
- Avoid obvious sequences like 123456, and avoid repeated digits.
- Do not reuse the PIN from your bank card or phone.
- Never share it. Lonida will never ask for your PIN by email, chat or support message.
Wrong attempts lock the PIN
Repeatedly entering the wrong current PIN triggers rate limiting, and after too many failures your PIN is locked for one hour. This protects you from someone guessing it, but it applies to you too — so if you are unsure of your PIN, stop and think rather than trying variations.
Two-factor authentication
Two-factor authentication adds a rotating six-digit code from an authenticator app on your phone. Even somebody who knows your password cannot sign in without that code.
Start the setup
Begin 2FA setup in the Security tab. You are shown a secret to add to your authenticator app — Google Authenticator, Authy, 1Password and similar all work.
Confirm with a code
Your app immediately starts generating six-digit codes. Enter the current one to prove the setup worked. 2FA is not switched on until you do this, so a half-finished setup cannot lock you out.
Keep access to the app
From now on that app is part of your login. If you change phones, move your authenticator across before wiping the old one.
- Disabling 2FA also requires a current valid code, so nobody can quietly turn it off.
- Once 2FA is on, it becomes selectable as your login verification method in Settings.
Losing your authenticator is serious
Because disabling 2FA requires a working code, losing the device with your authenticator on it — with no backup — makes recovery genuinely difficult. Store your authenticator's backup or recovery option somewhere safe when you set it up, not afterwards.
Security habits that matter
The four the platform itself recommends
- Use a strong PIN. Avoid obvious sequences or repeated digits.
- Enable 2FA. It blocks the overwhelming majority of automated attacks.
- Check your sessions regularly. Revoke anything you do not recognise, immediately.
- Beware phishing. Lonida will never ask for your PIN or a code by email or chat. Anyone who does is not Lonida.
Deleting your account
At the bottom of the Security tab is account deletion. It is deliberately awkward: a three-step confirmation that ends with you typing the word DELETE by hand. That friction is intentional, because of what it does.
What deletion actually does
Deleting your account immediately signs you out and revokes your access to your club, your team and your wallet. Do not treat it as a way to "start fresh" — if there is LONIDA in your wallet, withdraw it first, and if you own a club with team members, understand that their access to it goes as well.
